Tedeschi Educational Consulting
Pamela Tedeschi launched Tedeschi Educational Consulting to continue the work of Georgia K. Irvin & Associates when Georgia retired. For more than a decade, Pamela worked side by side with Ms. Irvin; she was mentored about the admission process, and visited hundreds of day schools, boarding schools and therapeutic programs. She worked with more than 1500 students on school placements. Pamela emerged as a leader in the Educational Consulting community, and has lectured to parents and professionals in the field of education. She has also tutored many students. Georgia K. Irvin and Associates was one of the country’s leading educational consulting firms for more than 26 years. On transitioning her business to Mrs. Tedeschi, Georgia had this to say:
“Pamela is uniquely well qualified for this role. She and I have worked side by side for eleven years and I know that we have the same values, commitment to excellence, and goals”
Education
Pamela received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Emory University and her M.S.Ed. from S.U.N.Y. Binghamton (now Binghamton University) in Special Education with a course concentration in learning disabilities and behavior disorders. Post graduate work includes classes at University of Georgia and Georgia State University in School Administration and Gifted Education. She continually attends conferences to keep current with trends in the fields of education and psychology.
Current Experience
Pamela is a Certified Educational Planner (CEP); to become a CEP a consultant must pass a rigorous process that includes holding a Master’s degree, visiting a large number of schools, participating in educational conferences, demonstrating consulting expertise and high ethical standards. A lengthy, comprehensive examination must be passed as well.

“The CEP designation is a mark of distinction demonstrating knowledge and commitment to the profession. It gives families the assurance they need that they are working with a qualified professional who is committed to maintaining the highest quality of service to students.” (www.aicep.org)

Pamela has been a Professional Member of Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) since 2003 (www.iecaonline.com). IECA is recognized as the nation’s leading professional organization for those educational placement advisors working in private practice. IECA’s required qualifications include: a master’s degree, at least three years of admissions counseling experience, and experience working with many students before considering an applicatant for membership. IECA also requires extensive campus visits.

In 2009 Pamela was appointed Chairperson of IECA’s Learning Disabilities Committee. This was a unique opportunity to educate other consultants, develop school tours, increase the committee’s visibility in IECA and enhance IECA’s relationship with other organizations. IECA was so impressed with Pamela’s accomplishments that she was asked to chair the committee a second year breaking a precedent which limited the chairperson to serving a single year.

Other professional memberships include Washington Independent Services for Educational Resources (www.wiserdc.com), Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (www.chadd.org) and Learning Disabilities of America (www.LDAAmerica.org).

In addition to her role as President of Tedeschi Educational Consulting, she serves on the Board of the Oakland School in Keswick, Virginia.
Past Professional Experience
Pamela began her career teaching students in grades k-12 in large public schools systems (Montgomery County, Maryland and Fulton County, Georgia). She also developed a resource room and assessed and taught students in grades 7-12 in a small rural school system (Candor, New York) where she was promoted to Department Head during her second year. Her last teaching job was at the McLean School of Maryland, an independent day school whose mission is to make learning accessible to a broad range of learners.

Her experience with pre-school age students includes a position as the Director of one of the Creative Carousel Pre-Schools in Montgomery County, Maryland. The founder of Hands on Science (a science enrichment program) hired Pamela to teach in the after school elementary program and to mentor new teachers. She interned at the Georgia Department of Education and has been a featured guest speaker on radio talk shows about learning differences.
